What a trip we had to get here. We flew in the middle of the night from Brussels and arrived at 8:00 o'clock in Lisbon. The day we spent at Lisbon city, where we had a great time!!! We took tram 28 through the city and had a relaxing time in one of the beautiful parks there. Before going back to the airport we ended the day with a meal in Lisbon's city centre.
At long last, after a 39 hour long day we arrived in Bamako airport. Unfortunately not all our luggage took the same flight :(
Derk's suitcase got lost somewhere on the way, we are still trying to locate it. The place we are staying is, against all expectations, absolutely fantastic. We all have our own rooms, and we even got served a hot meal at 3:00 o'clock in the morning.
This morning after only a few precious hours sleep we got shown the school and met the special needs children. They were very pleased to see us and couldn't wait to have their picture taken (the photos will follow).This was followed by a meeting with the wonderful people who work and live here, to access what has to be done. Tomorrow we're going to speak to some of the parents to see where the problems lay, concerning the daily life with the special needs children.
